Company

EHD Technology Group develops and optimizes electrohydrodynamic (EHD) nanodroplet generation sources for nanoscale applications. The company’s current focus is on the use of EHD nanodroplet beams to remove contaminants from surfaces such as semiconductor wafers.

The company was formed in 2004 with the acquisition of intellectual property rights to key EHD patents. Private investor funding was obtained in January of the following year.

Dr. Julius Perel, Director of Research, and John F. Mahoney, Chief Scientist, have over 60 years of combined EHD work, and are widely regarded as authorities in the field. Our science team has uninterrupted involvement in EHD intellectual property extending as far back as Xerox patents in the 1970’s.

Data gained from extensive work in beam generation, electrostatic field control, nozzle materials and design, power supply systems, and fluid management systems are available for use in new applications.

EHD Technology Group operates on revenues from application consulting, funded joint development projects, license fees, and royalties.

Management

Ken Finster
    President and Chief Technology Officer

Ken Finster managed technology commercialization projects from 1976 to 2004 at his own Southern California manufacturing firm. His customers were OEM manufacturers in various industries, including semiconductor equipment OEMs. Prior to that, he was product coordinator for Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometer (SIMS) products at Applied Research Laboratories, a division of Bausch and Lomb. Mr. Finster holds electrical engineering and MBA degrees.

Stephen Ascher
    Chairman

Steve Ascher has over 47 years in the securities and financial markets. Mr. Ascher serves on various company boards and has served on the Small Firm Advisory Board of the NASD. Steve brings strong financial and strategic guidance to the company.

Gary Awad
    Director

Gary Awad is founder of ThreeG Capital and has over 30 years of experience in business development. Gary brings negotiation, deal structuring, and strategic expertise to the company, and previously served as Executive Vice President of Unocal International Energy Ventures, Ltd. and Vice President of Global Development for Fluor Corp.

Charles Stephens
    Director

Chuck Stephens has held CEO, COO, Vice President of Engineering, and Vice President of Manufacturing positions at a number of companies in aerospace, specialty materials/chemicals, distribution, and consulting firms.

Dean Stephan
    Board Advisor

Dean Stephan served as Partner, Director, and President of Pankow Operating, Inc. During his tenure, annual volume grew from $25M to $650M. Dean is a member of the National Academy of Engineering, and a Distinguished Alumnus, Stanford University.

EHD Technology Group is located in Duarte, California, approximately 22 miles northwest of Los Angeles. Duarte is situated at the foot of the San Gabriel Mountains, and is just east of Pasadena, home of the annual Rose Bowl game and the California Institute of Technology.

Facilities

The company maintains science, engineering, laboratory, prototyping shop, and administrative offices in a single building at 1070 Hamilton Rd., Suite E, Duarte, CA, 91010.

An ISO class 6 cleanroom in the laboratory area houses the EHD demonstration test bed equipment.
